You hear about it all over the news stations and television programs. Your kids are doing it and probably more than you know. Your friends may be doing it but not talking about it. What am I talking about Social Media! Here is the amazing news…you can do it and it can help you grow your coaching business. Social Media Marketing is not just a bunch of chatter The idea behind social media is that we can share our thoughts and interests with other like minded people who want to share with us. This holds true for coaches in a huge way. It does not matter if you are a weight loss coach, relationship coach, fitness coach, transition coach, or business coach there are many people out there that would love to have you share your knowledge, insight, and information. You can do that with social media.

Think about how many people you can help when you are communicating one to many through social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Who are the leaders in your area of business? Find the leaders in your area of business and follow them on Twitter then become their friend or fan on Facebook. Take a look at the type of conversations they are having with the people who are interested in them. This will give you a good idea of what people want and need. They are talking about what interests or challenges them. You can enter the conversation without selling a thing. You can help people by sharing your knowledge or experience without being a promoter or a salesman.

When you help someone the law of reciprocity kicks in and they want to help you back. Sometimes that means just learning more about you. Sometimes that means signing up for a newsletter and becoming a member of your contact list and sometimes that means buying your product or service. Social Media is Not a Place for Hard Sell Social media is a place to become a part of the conversation and equally valuable to listen to what people are talking about.

By listening to what people are talking about, what they need help with and what interests them you are being told exactly what products and services people are interested in.

You want to go to social media sites to observe and contribute not to pitch yourself, your products or your services. In fact, this is likely to be very detrimental to your business and your success in social media.

Learn about search engine optimization.

No Internet marketing campaign will ever get off the ground without at least a basic understanding of search engine optimization. If you want your Internet marketing campaign to be successful, you need to know how to optimize all parts of your campaign for positive search engine results. The search engine is your best bet to getting recognized and it’s important that you understand that early.

Create your own blog.

Having your own website is extremely important but it’s not something you should ever take lightly. If you have no patience to learn website building and designing nor do you have any means of hiring a professional one to make your own website then it’s better to postpone your plans and create your own blog instead.

A blog is virtually just like any website. You can post different kinds of content on it. It may not offer you the same extent of freedom and versatility that websites can give you, but for businesses that are just getting started, blogs are perfectly satisfactory already.

A blog is a great way to have your presence felt online. It is also easier to interact with your clients frequently with a blog. For every post you upload, you can invite your readers to share their thoughts by posting their comments.

So yes, you can skimp on web space but what you must definitely pay for is your own domain name. More people will sit up and take notice if they see that you’ve got your own domain name. For many, having your own domain name means you’re taking your business seriously.

Determine your target market.

Your Internet marketing campaign will have greater chance of succeeding if you already know who you’re after. People in the Internet are different from the customers you meet daily in the real world. People from the same demographics may act differently online when compared with how they are offline. That’s why you need to research about your market first, learn who your customers are, get to know them and find out what they’re looking for before you start your Internet marketing campaign.

Stay in touch.

Updating your blog or website weekly isnt enough nowadays. People stay online longer and longer and they won’t visit a website that ís simply unable to keep up with their schedule. Your Internet marketing campaign must be designed to provide your customers what they want in daily doses. If not that then at least make sure you update blog a few times each week. Do that and you’ve got yourself a cost-efficient Internet marketing campaign for your company!

For those of you who don’t know what SEO is yet, we’ll do a brief overview to get you into the loop. What you are essentially dealing with is a series of keywords that are capable of triggering a search engine crawler. Once the crawler sees your keywords in will index your website, ensuring that you end up with a decent placement in the ranking. The placement you receive will depend on the keyword you chose and how popular that keyword happens to be.

The problem that many internet marketers face is the existence of the so-called ‘black hat’ companies that rival them. These black hat competitors exist for the purpose of milking people for as much money as they can and then moving on. One would think that such businesses would not exist for long, but the truth is that they do quite well considering the circumstances.

Such businesses are highly skilled in the use of keywords and they shoot up the rankings ladder with absolutely no problem. The most common reason for their success is simply that customers aren’t aware that these are scams or unworthy products. They click on the first link they find and go with it, and this is definitely a result of decent SEO use. Luckily, you don’t have much to fear when it comes to these businesses simply because they will not be around for long. Why won’t they be around for long?

That’s actually pretty simple when you take into account that these nefarious businesses exist for the purpose of making a large amount of money and then vanishing into thin air. If you strive to be a different type of business, however, you may be able to succeed in the end. By dominating your niche with honest tactics, you will begin to draw customers like never before and even start to sell new products and services.

Building up your reputation is certainly crucial to running a business and the more you do so, the more you will sell. Eventually the black hat organizations will fall, and if you business is left standing amongst the rubble then you are sure to make sales. Of course, this isn’t something that can happen overnight. There is quite a bit of work to be done if you wish to become the top company in your niche and you might consider using article marketing.

Article marketing is a fairly simple method that some of the best white hat companies use to gain popularity. Articles that contain the right keyword phrases will be used and eventually one will be able to draw traffic to their website using long tail and LSI keywords.

How you choose to market is up to you, but in the end, it all comes down to how well you can utilize SEO. It’s not going to be the easiest thing in the world by any stretch of the imagination, but over time, you will most definitely learn the ropes.

Once you get the hang of SEO and article marketing you can start to expand, using other forms of marketing to forge your way into the business world. There are plenty of methods out there and SEO is just the tip of the iceberg. That being said, good luck and have fun!

If you’re anything like me you’re probably wishing you had someone that was honest and could tell you some tips and pitfalls that you may need to know at some point. So here I am being that person you need to keep you informed.

I’m going to start with giving you some affiliate marketing tips that I hop will be able to help you.

No matter what you may have heard about affiliate marketing, it’s not realistic to say that everyone can make 5,000 – 10,000 dollars a month. Not everyone is willing to put in the hard work and there is also no money that will fall into your hands without you doing anything for it.

With that in mind, you’ll find some high level tips below that will help you make money with affiliate marketing programs on the internet.

1. Google and Overture Even though the days of free traffic aren’t completely over, they are surely fading away quickly. You can choose to work hard creating web pages that score well in the search engines, although it’s very hard to do.

By paying for clicks with Google and Overture, you’ll have the top three positions on the search engines that matter the most. If you hope to generate web traffic from Yahoo, all you need to do is be at the top of Google.

2. Your own email list Sending offers to your very own email list is the ideal way to build freedom and residual income. Instead of sending traffic away then hoping for the best, you should instead have your own email list to which you are able to send multiple offers.

3. Your own affiliate program If you knew that each filled out form on your site generated .50 cent in revenue, would you still be willing to pay someone else .25 cents to generate that same traffic?

The most overlooked ways of generating traffic is having others generate it for you. There are many advantages to this method, including the fact that others will be getting your traffic for you.

When it all comes down to it, everything involves paying for traffic in one way or another. You can either pay with money or you can pay with time. You have to decide which payment is more beneficial to you. Be sure to invest very wisely in advertising.

So now that we covered some good tips, I am going to now discuss some pitfalls. Remember, most of these may have been learned from experience, while some of these are learned through others experience. Either way, I hope they help you.

Even though affiliate marketing is an excellent way to earn money, there are several pitfalls that you’ll need to be aware of. As long as people have been earning money, people have also tried to figure out how to earn more by doing a lot less.

All you need to do is a quick online search for “work from home” or “making easy money”. You’ll instantly find millions of websites, simply click on a few and you’ll notice that they all start off the same. You’ll see a guy with a big house and a lot of money saying if you sign up, this could be you – how far from the truth!

The only way you can earn a good, stable income is to put in the hard work it takes. Before you join any affiliate program, you need to do the proper research. That’s one of the best benefits of the internet – finding the information you need.

All you need to do is search for the name of the affiliate program that your interested in, adding the word scam to it and see what pops up. You should also join some work from home forums, and don’t be afraid to ask the right questions.

There are a few ways that you can tell what program is most likely a scam. If a program doesn’t tell you their compensation plan unless you sign up, watch out. A lot of programs won’t tell you what you’ll be doing unless you buy a kit for a set price.

With any program, there should always be 100% free disclosure. You’ll need to know what you are going to be doing before you even start. If a program doesn’t tell you what you are going to be doing or if you have to pay money first, you should avoid it.
